>> Why, When and Where - The Prepared Plan is to Have A Storm Shelter During Storm Season.
Be prepared for storm season
Tornadoes are more common in the United States than in any other country, and we receive more than 1,200 tornadoes annually. These violent tornadoes which are categorized as EF-4 or EF-5, are the most dangerous and are most prevalent in the United States. During the winter months, tornadoes normally occur in the southern states and southeastern portions of the United States. The normal time during the year in which most tornadoes strike is termed "tornado season" is usually between the months of March through August.
You can see from the map based on NOAA, Storm Prediction Center Statistics, of the concentration, location, and intensity of dangerous storms recorded at EF-3, EF-4 and EF-5.
US Storm Shelter's storm shelters, including the exterior concrete and interior large and Mighty Mite series safe rooms are designed for rugged protection with the same EF-5 certification, and the Mighty Mite line offers excellent safety inside your home with a small footprint and price and they meet or exceed the FEMA-320 criteria.
If you live in the "tornado alley" area of the United States, the smart and prudent thing to do is be prepared. According to NOAA and FEMA, most people are killed or injured by tornadoes while exiting their home to find shelter. If you have the time to get to your exterior shelter do so, if not it's best to have an additional interior shelter or safe room that will protect you during dangerous storms.
