Manufactured quality, tested and certified storm shelters

It's normally understood that one of the safest places you and your family can retreat to in the event of a dangerous storm or tornado is in the ground. Today, the most used and tested material on the market for in-ground storm shelters is concrete. But is all concrete the same? The answer, as you may have suspected, is no.

So, why is U.S. Storm Shelters in-ground concrete storm shelters different from the others? Why do installers from several states rely on U.S. Storm Shelters manufactured quality and certified testing? For several very good reasons. Every concrete storm shelter is manufactured with the following specifications:

  • Constructed of 6,500 PSI concrete with fibermesh and 3/8" rebar on 9" to 12" centers throughout

  • Unique in the industry is our use of additives in our concrete that make it "self healing". Should a small crack ever form in your shelter creating a leak, our concrete will seal the leak forever in a matter of 4 to 6 weeks depending on temperature. This protection against leaks is effective for at least 40 years and probably longer.

  • The walls are 3" thick, the ceiling and floor are over 4" thick, and the shelter weighs approximately 12,000 lbs.

  • 8" and 6" diameter; screened air vents and powder coated and leak proof.

  • 10 gauge steel door built to FEMA specs.

  • Certification and Grant Qualified - Producing Member of the American Tornado Shelter Association - All shelters tested and certified.
